one was easy and seemed right,
the other was more narrow,
choosing one was my plight.
'come this way my friend ',
said one.. " i need your company"
But the narrow road stood quiet
and on it the light shone bright.
In confusion i reasoned..
'The broader road looks good ',
I mulled over the option..
while on the fork i stood.
I whispered a prayer before me
and put out a fleece to see
which was the path i tread on,
which road was it to be?
Heaven seemed silent
as my gaze rent the sky.
Bewildered I wandered,
gazing on the two roads nigh.
'Hell's pathways are lined with good intentions'
i heard a quiet voice say ,
Checking my impulses..
that almost led me astray
'Oh !beautiful is the broad road,
an old friend beckons me there '.
I pick my will and stand up,
my eyes can hardly see.
I choke a quiet
"goodbye"
Its the narrow road for me.
post script:this poem was written just now..straight from my heart about a decision i had to make.. but obedience to Him sometimes requires giving up something which seem so right to us..sometimes we need to trust Him inspite of our desires..For He does know so much more than we do..and times like these i say "trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding and in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths"
